Site Prep and Demo:  This involves removing existing structures, trees, or debris and preparing the ground for construction. Ensure proper grading, drainage, and utility connections are in place.

Foundation: Construct the foundation for the DADU. The type of foundation will depend on local building codes and site conditions. Depending on the design and requirements, it could be a concrete slab, crawl space, or full basement.

Framing and Structural Work: Build the structural framework of the DADU, including walls, roof, and floors. The process varies depending on the type of DADU you are building.  However, all structures need walls, beams, columns, and trusses, which we will install to code and with structural integrity.

Utilities and Services: Our bonded and insured electricians, plumbers, and HVAC specialists will connect your DADU to the main house or the utility grid, depending on the available options. Installing utilities is a multi-tiered process that requires multiple visits from these contractors throughout construction. Inspections are necessary at each phase of utility installation, and we do all the coordination and scheduling.

Insulation and Enclosure: Insulate the DADU to ensure energy efficiency and climate control. Install windows, doors, and other exterior finishes, such as siding. Coordinating with energy inspectors is an additional aspect of this phase.

Interior Finishes: Complete the interior of the DADU with drywall installation, flooring, painting, and other finishes. Install fixtures, cabinets, and appliances as per the design plan. Interior finishes include electrical and plumbing fixtures, kitchen fittings, bathroom fixtures, and other desired features.

Final Inspections and Approvals: Schedule and pass final inspections to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations. Obtain the necessary certificates of occupancy or completion.

Landscaping and Exterior Work: Complete any remaining exterior work, including landscaping, driveway installation, fencing, and outdoor amenities. This step adds the final touches and enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of the DADU.

It’s important to note that the specific process and requirements may vary depending on your location, local regulations, and the project’s complexity.
